Vizela a Cittaslow


Vizela is from the end of June 2011, the first northern city of Portugal to be classified Cittaslow. The assignment snail symbol represents the cities they live in peace and where betting on factors such as the quality of air and water, preservation of local history and characteristics that make it unique – as its thermal waters, the sweets, the gastronomy, green wine and crafts.
The celebration of integration into the Cittaslow International Network of Cities Where Living is Easy network was completed in the city of Lidzbark Warminski, Poland, on the occasion of the Slow Cities General Assembly and the Mayor of Vizela, Dinis Costa, received the award the hands of the President of the International Committee of Cittaslow, Gian Luca Marconi.

This distinction comes recognize the betting Vizela a quality tourism, which does not pass only for its thermal waters, which hold unique therapeutic qualities in the world, the confectionery, gastronomy and its green wine, but also for the construction of recreational equipment and enjoyment of nature.
An example is the latest investment of the Municipality in creating the Marginal riverfront on the left bank of the River Vizela, thus offering yet another pleasant space, quality and well-being of vizelenses and those who visit.
The construction of spaces for physical activities such as the Municipal Field Minigolf Fonseca and Castro also contributed to the international development, anchored in the Cittaslow network.
